About CP Wardell

Christopher Wardell is a bioinformatician/computational biologist studying cancer genomics at RIKEN in Tokyo, Japan, in Dr Hidewaki Nakagawa’s Laboratory for Genome Sequencing Analysis, part of the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences.

Although I’m well versed in molecular biology (holding a PhD in biochemistry), I realised that I was far better with a keyboard than I ever could be with a pipette and decided to follow my love of code to become a full-time dry-lab scientist.  I’m currently focused on next generation sequencing projects, but am interested in almost any area where biotechnology meets computer science.
